19th century alabaster tombstone, inscribed 'In affectionate remembrance of the Rev Robert Crole the first minister of this church: by whose zeal perseverance and generosity the building was erected and opened free from debt. He was a faithful and earnest preacher of the gospel, a loving pastor, and tender hearted friend, mush endeared to his congregation by whom this memorial is raised. He was highly esteemed by his brethren in the ministry for a course of 30 years, during which he held pastorates at Brampton, Guernsey, Stafford and Gloucester. He fell asleep in Jesus 26th of July 1881 aged 62 years and was interred in the cemetery of this city', 94 x 49cm (af)
